Story Summary

To help her lover Cary, who had given up his dream of flying due to injury, regain his ambition, genius researcher Sophia gives up her high salary and works under the pseudonym “S.” Without taking credit, she builds Cary’s company into a top player on Wall Street. After ten years of devoted love, she finally gets her wedding day. But on that day, she suffers a double blow: Cary’s betrayal and the news that she has a terminal illness. All because Cary’s benefactor said, “I am sick.” Cary steals Sophia’s place, cuts off her lifeline, ruins her reputation, and drives her to a dead end. Only in the end does Cary realize that he had mistaken the identity of his true benefactor. Consumed by regret, he tries to repent, only to find that the place beside Sophia that once belonged to him has already been taken by someone else.
