Story Summary

Evelyn, an heiress who once loved with blind devotion, gave everything she had—her family’s wealth, influence, and future—to help her husband Kane rise. Together, they built Rod Venture Capital from nothing into a billion-dollar empire. But her wholehearted love was answered with cold, calculated betrayal. Kane had been secretly involved with his trusted secretary Sophia all along. Driven by greed for the trust fund Evelyn’s mother had left her, the two conspired to stage a car accident and kill her. As Evelyn lay dying, they taunted her for her foolish faith in love and revealed with cruel satisfaction that Kane had taken out a multi-million-dollar life insurance policy on her. Overcome by hatred and injustice, Evelyn died a tragic death.
