Seraphina, daughter of Alaric Veil, was blessed by the Holy Sovereign at birth—born with a golden sacred mark on her forehead, golden eyes, and divine wings that unfurl upon her back when she wields her powers. Her mother, Isolde, died during childbirth due to frail health, while her father, Alaric Veil, was stationed far away in another territory on official duty. He only knew his daughter had been blessed and bore the mark, but had never seen her in person. When Seraphina was eight years old, she was betrayed by Odelle, the woman she trusted most—a maid who lured her into the wilderness. With cruel intent, Odelle gouged out the sacred mark from Seraphina’s forehead, assuming she would die and leave her abandoned. Believing Alaric Veil would never recognize his daughter, Odelle transplanted the mark onto her own biological daughter, Meryl. Indeed, when Alaric Veil returned, he failed to notice the switch. Meryl, constantly praising Odelle and claiming she had filled the void left by her absent mother, expressed deep affection for the maid and wished for her to become her mother. Overcome with guilt for having been absent so long, Alaric Veil granted his daughter’s wish and accepted Odelle as his wife. What the maid did not know was that Seraphina had miraculously survived. Without the sacred mark, her eyes turned gray and a scar marred her forehead. She took the name "Ella" and lived alone in the wilds, surviving among beasts. Hatred festered within her heart, and she swore vengeance against those who wronged her. Years later, Ella encountered Fenris, the young heir of the wolf clan, whose bloodline curse had driven him into violent madness. The faint trace of divine blessing still lingering in Ella’s body instantly calmed Fenris’s raging beastly instincts, restoring him to clarity. Astonished by her unique power, Fenris felt an uncanny familiarity with her aura and invited her to accompany him to Valtoria. Upon hearing the name of the place, Ella agreed immediately—she remembered her father, Alaric Veil, was the lord of this land. Thus, under the guise of an ordinary peasant, Ella journeyed to Valtoria. Meryl, now known as the “Chosen Divine Maiden—Seraphina,” ruled tyrannically over the estate and harbored a deep infatuation with Fenris. When she learned Fenris had brought back a woman named Ella, she began tormenting her relentlessly. As Ella endured these trials, she discovered the woman’s name: Seraphina Veil. Shocked that someone shared her name, she soon realized the woman was impersonating her. It became clear that this girl was actually the daughter of the maid Odelle. Determined, Ella resolved to take revenge. Each time Fenris fell into a violent trance, he sought Ella’s help to calm him, and their bond grew stronger. His repeated protection and special treatment of Ella stirred jealousy in the fake Seraphina, prompting her to provoke Ella more frequently. She even arranged for powerful warriors to challenge Ella. In the depths of despair, Ella unlocked a hidden power—each time she used it, golden light flashed across her pupils, and the false Seraphina’s mark on her forehead burned with heat. Ultimately, Ella emerged victorious in battle, though exhausted afterward. Concerned, Fenris carried her away. When the fake Seraphina tried to intervene, Fenris dismissed her coldly, watching them disappear together. Enraged by their growing closeness, the fake Seraphina reported Ella to her family. Under the influence of his wife and the false daughter, Alaric Veil launched a campaign of retaliation against Ella. He had no idea that Ella was his biological daughter, so he acted without mercy. Ella was roughly dragged into the sanctuary, where many gathered. Lady Alaric Veil and her colleagues found Ella’s appearance strangely familiar, but they didn’t dwell on it—instead, they focused solely on defending their own daughter. Fenris, seeing Ella’s condition, grew furious and instinctively shielded her. Alaric Veil, displeased with Fenris’s attitude, declared publicly that his daughter would marry Fenris. Fenris refused outright, but his family agreed to the engagement, claiming the false heiress was a divine maiden blessed by the Holy Lord, whose presence could help suppress the wolf clan’s violent tendencies. Enraged, Fenris publicly declared his love for Ella. The crowd mocked Ella, saying only someone of Seraphina’s status deserved him—what was Ella even? At that moment, Ella stepped forward, challenging the fake Seraphina’s divine identity and declaring herself the true chosen one. The onlookers ridiculed her as arrogant and dismissed her claims, demanding she prove herself in a duel. Lady Alaric Veil firmly rejected the idea, while Odelle, her wife, accused Ella of insulting the divine maiden and ordered her execution. Coldly, Ella retorted that a true divine vessel would manifest sacred wings when using divine power. Why hadn’t the fake Seraphina ever shown such wings? How could she possibly prove herself? Though skeptical, the crowd had never actually seen the fake Seraphina’s wings either, so they demanded proof from her. The impostor began to panic. Lady Alaric Veil sneered, explaining that divine wings were sacred and not something visible at will—they only appeared under specific circumstances. Convinced, the crowd fell silent. The fake Seraphina turned to Alaric Veil, sobbing dramatically, and he chose to believe her, ordering the immediate slaughter of Ella. In that life-or-death moment, the suppressed divine power within Ella erupted completely. Suddenly, the fake Seraphina’s forehead mark blazed with light and heat, causing her to scream in agony and writhe on the ground. Realizing something was wrong, the crowd froze. A golden radiance enveloped Ella, lifting her into the air, and a pair of pure, holy wings unfurled behind her. The fake Seraphina’s mark vanished, leaving only scorched flesh. When Ella landed, her eyes had turned an even purer gold, glowing far brighter than the impostor’s ever had. Only then did everyone realize—the true chosen maiden was right before them. They dropped to their knees, clasping their hands in prayer, begging for the Lord’s forgiveness. Lady Alaric Veil, Odelle, cradled her daughter in tears, suddenly recognizing Ella. In a fit of madness, she lunged forward, screaming, “How are you still alive? How didn’t you die?” Fenris swiftly knocked her back. Alaric Veil stared in shock at the scene unfolding before him, realizing he had been deceived. He angrily confronted Odelle, who finally revealed the truth: after being abandoned by her lover, the maid gave birth on the same day as Lady Alaric Veil. Her child bore no divine blessing, while Lady Alaric Veil’s daughter carried the sacred mark. After the lady’s death, consumed by jealousy, the maid believed it was the Lord’s sign and, when Seraphina was eight years old, surgically removed the mark and transplanted it onto her own daughter. With the truth exposed, Alaric Veil was enraged. He punished both women severely and confessed his sins to his true daughter. Odelle and the fake Seraphina were executed, paying the ultimate price for their crimes. Alaric Veil was finally reunited with Ella, embracing his long-lost daughter and restoring their bond. Fenris and Ella finally joined hands, happily together.
