Maya, an auto mechanic, is the illegitimate daughter of Conrad West—head of the West family—and is brought home to replace his adopted daughter, Bianca, in fulfilling a marriage engagement to Julian, heir to the Hart conglomerate. The two enter into a one-year "fake engagement" agreement: Maya gains access to Hart family resources to reclaim the South Bank auto repair shop that was stolen from her mother, Evelyn, while Julian uses the engagement as a cover to investigate a conspiracy surrounding a fatal family car accident. Relying on her exceptional mechanical expertise, Maya repeatedly thwarts the schemes of antagonists within both the West and Hart families. She exposes traps at their engagement party, stuns onlookers during a high-stakes garage showdown, and dismantles a frame-up orchestrated by her uncle, Derek. As their investigation deepens, the truth behind her mother’s fatal car crash and the seizure of her family’s assets is gradually brought to light. After surviving assassination attempts and elaborate conspiracies, the villains are finally brought to justice. Just as Julian prepares to make a genuine marriage proposal, Maya discovers she is pregnant with twins—a revelation that transforms their contractual arrangement into a true, loving partnership.
