Verna Collins came to the city to visit her daughter Sheryl Vance, who had just given birth to a baby. However, she met Ivy Wright, who was posing as a beggar to find an ideal wife for her wealthy father Emerson Wright. Ivy was charmed by Verna's kindness and arranged a blind date between Verna and Emerson. Emerson, thinking Verna was a fraud, pretended to be a delivery man. But to his surprise, Verna didn't care. Emerson was captivated by Verna's kindness and gentleness and quickly married her. However, at this time, Verna discovered that Sheryl had been deceiving her by using excuses not to let her see her grandson. Sheryl even hired an actor to pretend to be her at her grandson's party. Verna angrily confronted Sheryl, but the latter accused her of being a fraud. Just as Verna was being beaten by her in-laws, Emerson, who had been attending the party incognito, stepped in to stop them. The Dylan family, unaware of Emerson's identity, learned from Sheryl that Emerson was just a delivery man and insulted him. At this moment, the vice president of the Wright Group was invited to the party and was shocked to see Emerson. He immediately stopped the Dylan family from insulting him. But at Emerson's hint, he didn't reveal Emerson's identity. As a result, the Dylan family lost the cooperation with the Wright Group that was within their grasp, but blamed Verna, thinking she had deliberately embarrassed. Verna was heartbroken after seeing through Sheryl's true colors. To cheer her up, Emerson took her to a real estate agency and said he would buy her a house. Of course, to maintain his poor image, he bought a second-hand house. But they happened to run into Sheryl, who was there with Natalie to buy a house...
