Yunjin, the only princess of the Eastern Lin Kingdom, Princess Anyang, was saved by a stranger in her youth. Mistaking the wrong man for her savior because of a jade pendant, she concealed her royal identity and insisted on marrying General Fu Linjiang. After the wedding, she was despised by Fu Linjiang and bullied by the servants. Consort Su Yunrou colluded with a quack doctor named Li, fabricating a lie that Yunjin’s blood was needed as a medicinal ingredient. To curry favor with Su Yunrou, Fu Linjiang drew Yunjin’s blood every day, eventually torturing her to death. Her spirit wandered to the Underworld, consumed by resentment. Out of pity, the King of Hell made a pact to send her back to life and revealed that she had identified the wrong savior all along. Reborn inside a coffin in the clan shrine, Yunjin saw everything clearly and resolved to take revenge. When Fu Linjiang and Su Yunrou forced her to give blood again, she demanded a divorce on the spot. At that moment, Yehua, the powerful imperial advisor who held sway over the court, appeared to rescue her. He was the one who had saved her years ago, and also a disciple of the Sword God. A mountain collapse had crippled his legs, and Yunjin vowed to heal him. Yunjin sneaked back to the palace late at night. The emperor held a grand banquet to celebrate her return. She arranged for a disfigured maid named Yan’er to pretend to be the princess, tricking Fu Linjiang, who was desperate to connect with the royal family. Su Yunrou framed Yunjin repeatedly and falsely claimed to be pregnant to secure the general's favor. Yunjin turned her schemes back on her, exposing her deception. She then returned to the general's mansion and took back all her dowries, plunging Fu Linjiang and Su Yunrou into financial ruin. She took Physician Li into her custody, using his blood instead of hers for Su Yunrou’s ""medicine,"" fully exposing the blood-drawing fraud. Deluded by the fake princess Yan’er, Fu Linjiang drugged and violated her, only to be caught by court officials and utterly disgraced. Yunjin then revealed her true royal identity. Overwhelmed with regret, Fu Linjiang was demoted to a commoner. Having been reduced to begging, Su Yunrou hired assassins to murder Yunjin. Having finally woken up to his mistakes, Fu Linjiang rushed to stop the attack but was gravely wounded by an arrow. Yunjin coldly pulled the arrow out and left him. The Crown Prince of the Northern Border, Gao Yi, pressured the court for a political marriage with Yunjin, so the kingdom held a martial tournament to select her husband. Yehua's leg ailment was fully cured, and he defeated Gao Yi to protect Yunjin. In the end, Yunjin uncovered the whole truth and held a grand wedding with Yehua. Fu Linjiang, Su Yunrou, and all the other villains received their well-deserved punishment. Having avenged all her sufferings, Yunjin found true love and happiness.
