Aelia is the chief elven barrier architect of the Dawn Court, and her talent-designed Starlight Core barrier formation has protected the Dawn Court for years. She formed a soul marriage pact with Aurelian, the elven lord of the Dawn Court, and they had a son, Laris—but their lives were completely upended by Sylvia, a dark elf orphan girl Aurelian brought back from the Frozen Wilderness. Sylvia appears frail and innocent, but in truth she sows discord everywhere, not only coaxing Laris into growing distant from his birth mother, but also making Aurelian repeatedly side with her and hurt Aelia time and again. In a quarrel over the clash between their son's birthday and the anniversary of her parents' death, Aurelian's coldness utterly shatters Aelia's heart, and she removes her soul wedding ring, determined to dissolve the marriage pact. Sylvia then deliberately provokes her with the Moonlight Flower that caused her parents' deaths; Aelia strikes out in anger, only to be slapped backhanded by Aurelian, who arrives on the scene. Her heart dead, Aelia severs all affection completely—yet the enraged Aurelian pins the crime of stealing barrier secrets on her and has her imprisoned, trying to force her to submit. After clearing her name, Aelia resolutely leaves the Dawn Court with nothing. She does not know that the youth she saved eight years ago—now Valerian, lord of the Silver Moon Forest and chief high priest of the Sanctuary—has been quietly watching over her for years. Valerian secretly paves the way for her in her destitution, helping her take up the post of chief barrier architect at the Silver Moon Defense Array Institute. Aelia stands her ground through her own strength, and her career finds new life. Only after losing her does Aurelian finally wake up, sinking into deep remorse and trying every extreme means to win Aelia back—only to push her further away. At a forest socialite banquet, Aelia publicly exposes all of Sylvia's schemes—spreading rumors and hiring assassins—and Sylvia is ultimately sent to the Tribunal. After experiences such as being drugged and facing enemies together, Aelia gradually lowers her guard, and her feelings for Valerian deepen. Valerian's father, Raphael, former lord of Silver Moon, steps in to block their relationship; Valerian firmly chooses to protect Aelia and ultimately persuades his father. Beneath the World Tree, the soul marriage pact is formally dissolved. Aelia bids farewell to the past completely, and with Valerian and their adopted daughter Lenore forms a new family, reaping both career success and fulfilling love in the Silver Moon Forest.
