A century ago, the ancestor of the Ashford family, clutching a gravely wounded child amidst the chaos of war, knelt before a golden dragon to plead for sanctuary. The dragon goddess, Aurelia, used her divine power to heal the child and restore the family estate, forging a pact: the family would revere her through the generations, and in return, she would safeguard their lineage, wealth, and legacy. A hundred years later, Aurelia resides within the Ashford estate, living under the guise of an adopted daughter—yet her descendants no longer believe she is their ancestral guardian. Though she has single-handedly preserved their gold mines, business interests, and prosperity, they view her as nothing more than a parasite living off their charity. At a banquet, they humiliate her publicly, frame her for theft, and even force her into marriage with a brutal investor to secure commercial gain. The Ashford family shatters the ancient covenant, seizes her dragon-scale token, and compels her to sign a marriage contract. They attempt to imprison her using a "god-binding ring" and a coercive new pact, eventually consigning her to an underground laboratory—intent on draining her dragon blood and replicating her dragon fire. When Edmund, the elderly butler who remained her only loyal ally, sacrifices his life to save her, Aurelia’s wrath is fully unleashed. When the dragon goddess ceases to be merciful, everything the Ashford family once possessed is reclaimed. Their wealth, estates, mines, power, and even their very lineage crumble into ash within the dragon’s flames. In the end, Aurelia herself brings an end to a century of protection, consigning the oath-breaking Ashford family to the fate they so richly deserve.
