In a past life, Elodie, the sole heir to the Hart Group, lost her parents in a fire and was then held in a stranglehold by her fiancé, Graham, who used his “life-saving favor” as leverage. She had believed she was marrying the man who loved her most, only to discover on her deathbed that Graham had long been secretly colluding with Sabrina, her closest friend and confidante. Not only had he been poisoning her for years and plotting to take over the Hart Group, but the fire that claimed her parents’ lives all those years ago was also his doing. When she opened her eyes again, Elodie found herself reborn back to the time before her wedding. This time, she would no longer be a helpless victim at the mercy of others. She saved Adrian, the heir to the Vale Group who was supposed to die in a car accident, and struck a one-year marriage agreement with him. On the day of the wedding, Elodie publicly exposed the truth about Graham and Sabrina’s marriage, their child, and their betrayal. She also revealed that she had already married Adrian, completely shattering Graham’s plan to take over the Hart Group. After being ousted from Hart, Graham took his core team with him to start a new company and joined forces with Malcolm—who had been secretly coveting power at Vale—to launch a counterattack. Elodie, meanwhile, supported the nearly bankrupt Nova team and, together with Adrian, staked $1 billion to pull off a technological comeback, ultimately defeating Graham once and for all at a global summit. With his back against the wall, Graham once again set a fire in an attempt to kill Elodie, but ultimately revealed the truth about the old case himself. Elodie and Adrian escaped the inferno together and finally left the past behind, finding true love and a new beginning after their quest for revenge was over.
