In the early years of the Republic of China, Lord Ye Yunzun, who had cultivated immortality for eight hundred years, lived in seclusion deep in the mountains. The Heavenly Thunder Tribulation descended ahead of schedule, revealing that only by marrying his fated soulmate Su Nianqing to weather the Love Tribulation could he preserve his eight centuries of cultivation. The descendants of the Ye Clan had never seen their ancient ancestor's true appearance. They mistook a swindling fake Taoist, Master Sun, for the elder and brought him back to Yuncheng. Deeming trains far too slow, Ye Yunzun traveled by flying sword, but veered off course and arrived late. By the roadside, he happened upon Su Nianqing, who was destined to marry the supposed ""old Ye clansman."" He recognized her as his predestined partner at first sight, and forced a divine elixir down her throat to cure her chronic illness, forging their karmic bond from that moment on. At the engagement banquet, Ye Yunzun publicly exposed Master Sun's fraud. However, his spiritual power flickered on and off due to the Love Tribulation, leading the younger Ye kin to brand him a charlatan. It was not until Ye Huaiyuan, a wealthy merchant and the only clansman who had seen the ancestor, arrived and knelt to acknowledge him that everyone realized the young man before them was their true founding elder. Shortly afterward, Du Shaoqing, who shared Ye blood but coveted the clan's power, stole the Diamond Mantra and Heart-Corroding Herb left by the ancestor and staged a rebellion, seizing control of all the elite figures in Yuncheng. In the crisis, Su Nianqing was severely injured while shielding Ye Yunzun. Her sincere devotion unexpectedly helped him fully overcome the Love Tribulation; his magic surged back to its peak, and he quelled the rebellion with ease. On their wedding day, the Liu Clan conspired with the Military Governor's Mansion to launch an attack, plotting to carve up the Ye family's industries. At Ye Yunzun's single command, hundreds of powerful figures indebted to him arrived in unison: the heads of four century-old aristocratic clans, the sect leader of the Azure Cloud Immortal Sect, the retired former military governor, and many more. All knelt to pledge their allegiance, thoroughly intimidating every hostile force. In the end, Ye Yunzun held a grand wedding with Su Nianqing, gifting her the world's last Elixir of Eternal Youth. The pair walked hand in hand through everlasting life. Sixty years later, their faces still retained their youthful radiance as they watched their white-haired Ye descendants tending to the courtyard, living a carefree, immortal life of leisure.
